DO

DO: Make Your Plan

When it comes to end-of-life planning, one simple word can make all the difference: Do.

Many people mean to get their affairs in order. They talk about it, think about it, and plan to “get to it someday.” But the most important step is simply to do it.

Start with the three essential legal documents:

Power of Attorney (POA) – This allows someone you trust to manage your finances and legal matters if you cannot.

Advance Care Directive (ACD) – This outlines your wishes for medical care if you are unable to speak for yourself and names a person to make health decisions on your behalf.

Will – This ensures your assets are distributed according to your wishes and can make things much easier for the people you leave behind.

These documents are not just paperwork. They are acts of care. They spare your loved ones from uncertainty, conflict, and guesswork during difficult times.

But don’t stop there.

Go a step further and make your own plan. Think about what matters to you: your values, your spiritual wishes, who you want around you, and how you would like to be remembered. Write it down. Share it with the people who will support you.

Planning ahead is not about expecting the worst. It’s about living well now, knowing that when the time comes, things will unfold according to your wishes.

So today’s invitation is simple:Do it.
